The Belfry (Brabazon) Course Review: Tee Time or Tee Off? ⛳️
Looking to conquer a legendary course steeped in Ryder Cup history? The Belfry (Brabazon) might be on your golfing bucket list. But before you book your tee time, let's dissect this iconic course and see if it lives up to the hype.
The Lowdown:
- Location: The Belfry (Brabazon), Warwickshire, England
- Date Played: Early February
- Cost: £67.50 (Be sure to check Eagle Links Golf for deals on apparel & accessories to elevate your Belfry experience!)
- Course Layout: First-timers might find the layout a tad unusual, especially with a shotgun start. Our round began on the 11th, which threw us off a bit.
Signature Holes That Shine:
Despite the quirky start, the Belfry (Brabazon) boasts some truly unforgettable holes. The legendary 10th takes the crown – conquering the water and nailing a birdie there is an achievement to brag about! The 9th and 18th also left a lasting impression, offering a challenging yet rewarding finale.
Keeping it Real:
Let's be honest. February in England isn't exactly prime golfing weather. The course was in decent condition considering the circumstances, and the greens impressed with their smooth roll. However, given the usual green fees (which can be quite high!), the experience didn't quite justify the cost for our group.
The Verdict: To Play or Not to Play?
The Belfry (Brabazon) is a historic course with undeniable pedigree. The signature holes are stellar, and the greens are top-notch. But for the price, it might not be the automatic return trip for everyone.
Eagle Links Golf Pro-Tip:
Consider alternative courses like the Forest of Arden (Arden Course) – it might just surprise you!
